    Okinawa Shorin Ryu Karate with Sensi Jose Cordero coordinates the Karate program. In this class he teaches children positive attitudes, self-discipline, goals, and self-defense skills. Classes for children ages 5-16 are Mondays and Thursdays from 6:00 pm-7:00 pm & 7:00 pm-8:00 pm in the Lake Eva Community Center.

    This is a self-guided ongoing class, where participants choose their piece to be poured into a mold and then fired on site. Once it is finished, they get to paint it!     Heidi Yancey is originally from Newark, Delaware. Heidi has four brothers and is the only girl. At the age of five years old, Heidi would watch the television show "Fame". The well-known performer, Debbie Allen, inspired her. Heidi started taking her first dance class which was ballet. Heidi was the only African American girl in her class, so she faced many difficult challenges. By the age thirteen, Heidi was taking ballet, tap, and jazz. Heidi later became Delaware's first African American Ballerina to dance as a soloist in the ballet "Cinderella." We are lucky to have such a talent to teach our youth the art of dance.
