CHIEF OF POLICE
Message from Chief Morris West

On behalf of all the fine men and women of the Haines City Police Department we welcome you to our website.
The Haines City Police Department is located in the heart of the state in northeast Polk County, Florida. Our staff consists of forty- two sworn personnel and seventeen civilian employees. The Department was internationally accredited in November of 1992, and was reaccredited in 1997 and again in 2000 by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). Additionally, we were Florida State Accredited (CFA) in Jensen Beach in October of 1998 and reaccredited in 2001. The men and women of Haines City Police Department have worked hard to achieve and maintain standards.
Haines City is approximately 8.9 square miles in size, with the last census showing 13,526 population, with another 15,000 part-time residents during the months between October through April.
We have an excellent relationship with our community and have established, through crime prevention programs such as our Community Outreach, The Consequences of Crime Program, Combat Auto Theft (C.A.T.), and Community Oriented Policing Section (C.O.P.S.), that we will aggressively enforce the law, but we will always be professional and courteous to our citizens in doing so.
Additionally, we are committed to our goal of assuring that every citizen is safe in his or her home or business, so that our citizens may maintain their individual dignity, and feel free to live, work and play without fear of being victims of crime and disorder.
We invite you to visit us at our new police facility located at 35400 Hwy 27, Haines City, Florida.
