[Swearing In Ceremony]Officer Christopher Todd Horner of the Haines City Police Department was killed on March 3rd, 1998, at about 6:30 am. He had been an officer with the Haines City Police Department for just one year and two months.

Officer Horner's last transmission was a suspicious vehicle, a dark-colored Crown Victoria with no visible tag, that he had observed at a local cemetary, a well known dumping ground for stolen vehicles. After Officer Horner failed to respond to the dispatcher's status check, back up units found him lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head.

Officer Horner is survived by his wife, six children, his parents, and his brothers and sisters in Law Enforcement.

GOD BLESS YOU, CHRIS...YOU ARE SORELY MISSED BY ALL OF US AT THE HAINES CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT
