Patrol

The Uniform Patrol Division Commander, Lieutenant Michael Green, is a seven year veteran with the Department and manages the largest component within the department.  The Uniform Patrol Division consists of  twenty-seven (27) officer positions broken down as follows: three Sergeant positions, two Corporal positions, nineteen (19) uniform patrol officers and (2) K-9 officers worked over 12,000 calls for service.

The Uniform Patrol Division's main objective is to provide a high level of safety and service to the citizens of Haines City and are responsible for the preliminary investigation of all felonies, misdemeanors and traffic cases.

Working closely with the Polk County Traffic Safety Team, the department has two (2) officers certified to check child safety seats for compliance with state laws and their safe installation in vehicles.  The mobile traffic radar trailer is used to increase motorists awareness of speeding in an attempt to voluntarily get them to comply with speed laws.

The City of Haines City recently revised the noise and parking ordinances. These changes should be helpful in dealing with those drivers who seem to think everyone in a three block area wants to hear their stereos, as well as drivers who insist on parking their vehicles in “no parking” zones.

The officers and civilian employees are very excited about being in a new facility and staying in great shape by utilizing the new Physical Fitness Training Room.
