The Development Services Department facilitates a variety of programs that promote the responsible development of the city and a safe, livable environment for all of its citizens. Organized into four primary functions, the Department’s primary roles include Planning and Zoning, Land Development and Building Plan Review, Permitting and Licensing, Building Inspections, and the Community Redevelopment Agency.
In addition to numerous agencies, organizations, and the general public, the Department partners with several citizen advisory boards to implement its various programs. The Department provides organizational and technical support to the Planning Commission, Board of Adjustments, Code Compliance Magistrate, Building Technical Review Board, and several Neighborhood Citizen Advisory Committees and Task Forces.
