Residents and commercial customers must place their containers at the curbside no earlier than 6 p.m. the day before service and containers must be removed from the curb to a location other than the front yard, no later than 6 a.m. the day after service. Containers left at the curbside or visible from the street are subject to a violation warning or violation charge of $50 per day.
Additional containers are available for purchase for those residents requiring additional containers for $80 tax included and can be added to your water bill in six monthly installments.
Yard Waste
Yard waste is picked up on garbage collection day for bagged items such as leaves and grass clippings. Limbs are to be neatly stacked at the curb and can be no longer than 5 feet in length. Limbs cannot be commingled with garbage. If it is a large pile of yard waste that requires a claw truck, then it will be collected on a Wednesday. Please arrange pick up with a claw truck by calling the Haines City Public Works Department at 863-421-3777. Auto parts are not acceptable.

Commonly accepted recyclables for your home include: cleaned and rinsed aluminum and metal cans, plastic containers (#1 through Number 7) and clear or colored glass (not broken). All paper and paperboard products, including newspapers, magazines, telephone books, junk mail, office paper, flattened boxes, etc., except food contaminated or wax coated paper, (flattened boxes should not exceed 3 feet by 3 feet in size). Place all your recycle materials inside the cart with the lid closed. Do not place any overflow outside the 65 gallon container. Break down your boxes to help with additional space in the cart. Do not bag recyclables because the plastic bags cannot be recycled through this program. Take plastic bags to your local grocery store for recycling.
